The city, which is now alive and vibrant, looks very different from its old days under communism. Even as Prague shines as a global hub, these memories still echo through its charming streets. 01 ■Old Town SquareEntering the Old Town Square was like entering a time capsule. The tower of the Old Town Hall and the 14th-century Týn Church stand as guardians of history. The medieval astronomical clock, a masterpiece installed in 1410, evoked a sense of wonder in me. It's the third oldest and the oldest still functioning astronomical clock in the world. 02 ■Charles BridgeThe iconic Charles Bridge, which spans the Vltava River, is a testament to time and craftsmanship. As I walked across this bridge, steeped in history, which connects the Old Town with Malá Strana and served as the essential connection between the Old Town and Prague Castle, the history still felt very alive. Its completion in the 15th century, commissioned by King Charles IV in 1357, made it not only a structure, but also a living piece of history. 03 ■MosteckáThe moment I crossed the Charles Bridge and meandered through Mostecká Street, I was greeted by an array of picturesque Baroque and Rococo houses, reflecting the elegance of the Malá Strana district. Adorned with so much beauty, the road leads to the revered St. Nicholas Church, a beacon for countless visitors. 04 ■Malá StranaAt the Castle Complex I had a beautiful view over the Malá Strana district, or 'Little Side' as my guide told, time seemed to stand still down there. The beautifully preserved neighbourhood reflects the charm of the 18th century. The Malostranské Náměstí, the district's main square, captures the essence of Prague's history, making it my personal favourite. 05 ■TramsAmid the allure of Prague's history, trams represent a unique place in urban transport. These trams not only offer a way to move through the city, but are also a window into the soul of the city. I always preferred the tram to the metro. These made travelling through the city a unique experience and offered a glimpse into the heartbeat of the city. In the story of Prague blends the past with the present, creating a compelling fusion of history and modern life. The vibrant facades, historic bridges and delightful neighbourhoods demonstrate Prague's resilience and embody its talent for capturing time within its walls. When I wandered through the streets of Prague, I found myself not only exploring a city, but also taking a journey through time.
