The majestic Sultan Abdul Samad Building stands proudly, its Moorish architecture adding a touch of grandeur to the square. As we explored the area, the historic flagpole at Merdeka Square, where the Malaysian flag was hoisted for the first time in 1957, served as a poignant reminder of the nation's sovereignty. Beyond the square itself, the surrounding area further enriched our experience. The Twin Towers, connected by a sky bridge, create an awe-inspiring spectacle, symbolising Kuala Lumpur's ascent as a global metropolis. The rising Merdeka 118, was almost everywhere an integral part of Kuala Lumpur's skyline. Its strong presence in the cityscape intrigued us and we chose to admire its height from a distance. The decision not to climb these towering structures allowed us to appreciate their significance as integral components of Kuala Lumpur's identity, each contributing their own unique chapter to the city's evolving story.
