Due to the ecological damage caused by mass tourism the environment is unable to restore itself. They will evaluate the environmental recovery year by year and reconsider later the opening of this beautiful island again for visitors. The beach on the island has a capacity of seventy people, but sometimes there were more than a thousand tourists and there were a lot of food stalls and boats. That caused the island to be damaged. Koh Tachai Island is located at the northern most tip of the Similan National Park. It is one of the latest additions to the National park area together with the island of Koh Bon.
