Around that time, Lübeck was very prosperous and an important export port, so also important for artists to sell their art and to settle down. In this exhibition you can find no fewer than 26 altarpieces together. This has never been shown anywhere. Dutch and Belgian artMuch Dutch and Belgian art was also traded in Lübeck and many works from both countries are currently on view in the museum.
